As part of the upgrade Chemcial Feed Solutions supplied (to each of
the 5 water treatment plants in the area) a PLC chlorine control panel.
The control panel interfaced with the existing onsite Scada interface to
send analytical readings back to the council. The PLC was also
programmed to ensure the correct amount of chlorine was dosed.
Pre & Post Reservoir Halosense Chlorine/pH Analysers were used at each site to monitor the Free Chlorine Residuals and pH of the water entering and leaving the plants. Signals were transmitted to the local PLC via RS232 to enable remote monitoring of the water quality.
To enable the water treatment operators to accurately monitor the chlorine levels remaining in the chlorine bottles Chemfeed installed Scaletron 2350 weigh scales. The weight of gas left in each bottle was transmitted to the PLC via a 4-20mA signal to enable remote monitoring of the remaining gas.
